Alberta Party Names Michelle Landsiedel as Candidate in Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche By-Election

The Alberta Party is pleased to announce that Michelle Landsiedel is the Party’s official candidate in the Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche by-election to be held on March
15, 2022.

“I was impressed when I met Michelle because she truly cares about her community and wants to make a difference”, says Barry Morishita, Alberta Party Leader.

"The Alberta Party is showing Albertans that there are better ways to do politics than what we have seen these last few years, and we are very hopeful that the residents in Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche will see Michelle as a champion of their values and desire for a better Alberta."

Michelle has lived in the Wood Buffalo region since 2006, working as a project lead with Suncor Energy, and is an active community organizer contributing to the Boys and Girls Club of Fort McMurray, A Taste of Fort McMurray, the Alberta Winter Games, and more. Notably, Michelle has worked on major disaster recovery efforts as a volunteer with the Red Cross, a cause deeply close to her heart. Michelle brings a wealth of corporate experience and community passion that she hopes will show voters that she and the Alberta Party are the right choice to effectively represent their interests. Michelle is also a proud mother, wife, and senior dog-owner. She is excited to get to the doors and hear more from residents of the constituency on what they expect from their future MLA.

"I learned, during the municipal election, that residents of this community just want to feel heard at every level of government, to be valued for the important role they play in Alberta's political landscape,” Michelle stated.

"If I can play a small part in acknowledging and advocating for this region, and in giving residents a choice for the voice that best represents them, then I'm proud to stand in this race, and grateful to the Alberta Party for giving me that opportunity."

Alberta Party President Sue Timanson says, “we are so pleased and excited to welcome Michelle to the Alberta Party Team as our Candidate for this by-election. Deeply connected to the community, with a commitment to represent this region, I am confident that she will bring a balanced and optimistic voice to this election race and into the Legislature.” To learn more about Michelle and her background, and to stay up-to-date on the campaign as it unfolds, visit https://www.albertaparty.ca/michelle_landsiedel
