Winston is a successful results-based systems thinker with over 10 years of experience working within the Government of Alberta and as an international business consultant.
Since May 2007, Winston has been an active leader within the public service. He has advocated for and emulated the organization’s corporate values of respect, accountability, integrity, and excellence and always strives towards increasing efficiencies and providing valuable data-driven opinions. He worked as a Financial Assistant for two summers before embarking as a full time employee for Alberta Transportation in Business Planning and Reporting. Throughout the years, he worked in varying capacities and roles ending as the Acting Issues Manager before his temporary move to Ottawa.
There he volunteered for an affordable housing non-profit organization as the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee accounting for over $2 million in revenues and expenses. During this time, he also joined the industry of international business consulting where he had supported local Canadian companies in conducting international trade and investment activities abroad.
Two years later, he returned to the Alberta Public Service to work on a strategy that looked at providing a long-term vision for transportation in Alberta. He then later moved to Alberta Energy as a Senior External Relations Consultant organizing high-level diplomatic, foreign, and commercial meetings before returning to Transportation to work on autonomous vehicle policies.
Winston also has an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management from MacEwan University.
