Pramod Kumar moved to Canada from the central part of India in 2003 to pursue higher education. He is a Professional Agrologist with M.Sc. degrees in Agriculture (University of Saskatchewan) and Master’s Certificate in Public Management (University of Regina).

He has more than 16 years of experience in entrepreneurship, public service, and research.  As well as managing Government of Alberta’s provincial programs, policy development and implementation in Alberta and Canada. He worked on several intergovernmental committees and international working groups. Pramod has gained valuable experience in agri-food entrepreneurship, food safety and quality, policy development and program management while working in Alberta as a consultant and public servant for the past 10 years.

He is a passionate community volunteer and had opportunity to serve as board member and executive on two community organizations in Alberta. He actively volunteered for Alberta’s Classroom Agriculture Program and Edmonton schools and served the community during the Fort McMurry fires. With his personal interest in trade promotion activity, he had successfully led two international tours to increase trade partnership between India and Canada in the past.

Pramod has also received appreciation for his poetry on science and society that he published and recited in several communities. He enjoys creating graphics, and multimedia content and has a passion for singing.

He has actively contributed to Alberta communities as a volunteer and a public servant and is now running for public office to put his education and experience to work for Albertans. In his commitment to the public office he will champion modern, fair, transparent and representative governance. Pramod strongly believe in efficient program delivery, fiscal prudence and creating new market opportunities for Alberta’s resource and agri-food products.
