November 14, 2018 (Edmonton) – The Alberta Party wants to thank Calgarians for taking the time to participate in an important democratic exercise in voting on whether or not to proceed with a bid to host the 2026 Winter Olympics. 

We believe a decision to pursue hosting the Olympics, and the financial commitment and risks that are carried with it warranted a fulsome discussion.  This process gave Calgarians a chance to engage in and share their views on their priorities for Calgary moving forward.

We appreciate that in the uncertain economic climate Calgarians felt uncomfortable with proceeding with the Olympic bid but are thankful that all Calgarians were able to participate in this dialogue.
