The UCP announced this week they plan to move forward with some of the Ernst and Young recommendations on health care spending. The announcement will see 9,700 AHS positions outsourced and 1,300 positions cut, either through attrition or the elimination of management positions.
As an Alberta Party MLA, Greg Clark spoke against bringing private lab services into the public system, arguing it is an ideological choice that will cost Albertans more in the long run.
Numbers released this week from the MNP Consumer Debt Index, one of the largest full-service chartered accountancy and business advisory firms in Canada, show the economic hardships facing Albertans. The Index found that 25 percent of Albertans are unable to pay their debt, up five percent from June.

On Thursday, the UCP Government announced that they will repeal Bill 10, the Public Health (Emergency Powers) Amendment Act, which gave the government vast powers over the public.
The Alberta Party called for a sunset clause in the Bill as the repeal involves giving too much power to the Executive.
