Ivan grew up south of Spruce Grove, where his parents owned a rural store and ran a family farm. He graduated from Stony Plain Memorial High school, then went on to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.  Ivan has worked extensively in the energy and agriculture industries in Alberta, Western Canada and the USA.

In the community, Ivan has served on various board within his local Church, served on committees at regional and national conventions. Ivan served on the Board of Regents of a Seminary in Ontario and has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce for years. Within political circles, Ivan has been active in his local Constituency Association and attends provincial political meetings on a regular basis.

As an MLA serving the people in Spruce Grove-Stony Plain, Ivan will work with the people to define the top priorities, of the needs of the constituency, be those needs in roads, infrastructure, education, health, or other needs identified by Albertans. He also will work hard to get Alberta products to international markets.

Ivan is a firm believer in transparency to the citizens; and equality to all!

Over the years Ivan has gained life experience and expertise in working from the farm fields to the high rise boardrooms. Ivan would like to put this knowledge to work for the people of Spruce Grove and Stony Plain.
