A fifth-generation Albertan, Craig grew up in a family with deep roots in farming, oil and gas, education and health care. Dinner time around the table was always an interesting conversation. At an early age, he learned the importance of hard work, perseverance and the value of community.

Born and raised in Bentley, Alberta, Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge. He traveled to Madagascar and volunteered for two years where he provided humanitarian support to the local population by building schools, teaching English, aiding with disaster relief, in addition to many other service projects.

He currently resides in Vermilion, is a father of two children and teaches grade six Intensive French in Lloydminster. Craig is passionate about education and is committed to ensuring students are prepared for the future and a new economy.

Craig’s previous political career included Village Councillor/Deputy Mayor, where he campaigned on the promise to lower taxes and be fiscally responsible and was successful in this endeavor.

Craig sees the effect the recent economic downturn has had on the mental health on many Albertans and is committed to ensuring supports are in place for Albertans and their families.

Craig believes in an open and transparent government and is excited to be representing a party that champions collaboration and honesty. He values public input and consultation, something that is often lacking in government. While focusing on moving our oil products to market, Craig understands the importance of diversifying the economy, getting people back to work and promoting opportunities for small business - the backbone of our province.
