Alberta Party welcomes new Interim Executive Director, Troy Wason

On January 1st, 2021, the Alberta Party will welcome former PC Alberta Executive Director Troy Wason into the position of Interim Executive Director.

Troy has over 35 years of political and organizational experience supporting the democratic process in Alberta and stepped in as the Executive Director of PC Alberta at a difficult time following the 2015 election.

The Party also wishes the best to outgoing Interim Executive Director Mark Taylor. Mark was the Executive Director from 2017 to 2019, and stepped up this fall to act as our Interim Executive Director.

Conrad Guay, Alberta Party President:

Troy’s experience will be a tremendous asset to the Party as it grows. Albertans need a voice in the Legislature that offers hope and fresh thinking, and brings Albertans together to build a more prosperous and resilient province.

At the same time, we’re sad to see Mark go. He helped run this Party and was crucial in ensuring that we had 87 candidates in 2019, and able to win the trust and votes of 172,000 Albertans.

Troy Wason, incoming Interim Executive Director:

I’m excited to take everything I’ve learnt in the Alberta political realm and apply it to my new position. The Alberta Party has a strong vision for this province, and I can’t wait to help expand upon what is an already viable and effective provincial organization.

My goal is to help make sure the Alberta Party is ready to compete in 2023 and ensure Albertans have an open and democratic party they can vote for, not against.

Troy is a well-known and highly respected name in Alberta politics, and the Alberta Party is committed to building a strong party for 2023.
