Meet Layton:| Layton is a power engineer who has worked all around the province of Alberta in the energy industry. Layton grew up on a farm in rural Montana before moving to Lethbridge for school. After meeting his wife while working in Edmonton, the couple returned to Lethbridge where they live with their toddler.
Layton is committed to bringing the affordability crisis to the forefront of Alberta politics. Whether it is eliminating interest on the Alberta portion of student loans, working with farmers to keep their farms economically viable, or working with our health care professionals to support them in our communities, he is keenly aware of the struggles facing Albertans in making ends meet.
Campaigns are a lot of work, but as a team, we can send Layton to the Alberta Legislature. You can help us accomplish this by either hosting a barbeque or coffee party for Layton to meet some of your friends or neighbours, joining Layton for door knocking, lit drops or making phone calls.
Join our team, and help us win this.

CANDIDATE CORNER
Yeremiy represents Albertans who are stepping up to the challenge of bringing respectful, pragmatic, and principled leadership to Alberta’s Legislature.
“My experience, and the principles of the Alberta Party, prompted me to take my win-win mindset to where it is needed most”, said Yeremiy. “We are looking out for what is best for all Albertans at a critical time in our Province's history, by being fiscally responsible and socially progressive now and into the future.”
“I am running to get things done for my community and for Albertans with a positive, practical, and professional approach. We must work together with those who share our principles and vision for Alberta – a vision that combines fiscal responsibility with needed social supports and strong human rights values,” said Cundal. “I am so proud to be nominated as a candidate for the Alberta Party. I look forward to the opportunity to represent my community of Calgary-Elbow in the Legislature on the important issues for Albertans that have been neglected for far too long by current and past governments.”
Barry served the people of Brooks as a City Councillor and Mayor for 10 years. Prior to entering provincial politics, Barry was a local business owner and President of the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (now Alberta Municipalities) from 2017-2021, where he visited nearly every municipality in Alberta, talking with community leaders and building a deep understanding of the needs of Albertans.
“The need for leadership that people can trust is sorely needed in the province. Albertans have shared with me their longing for a government of problem-solvers and innovators who tackle challenges using real-world experience and practical solutions,” stated Morishita. “I am proud to be the first nominated candidate for the Alberta Party – a party that is fighting for prosperity and opportunity for everyone.”IN THE MEDIA

September 1, 2022SUMMER REFLECTIONS
It’s been a busy summer for Alberta Party leader Barry Morishita, connecting with Albertans at local community events across the province and listening to their concerns and priorities for the future of our province and recruiting candidates.
Kerry Cundal was nominated as the Alberta Party candidate for Calgary-Elbow on May 29, 2022, and Jenny Yeremiy was nominated as the Alberta Party candidate for Calgary-North West on September 7, 2022. We’re looking forward to more candidates joining the team in the coming months.
Our candidates met hundreds of Calgarians at the Lilac Festival, Calgary Stampede, Pride events, and Marda Gras. Additionally, as Barry highlighted in his video message above here, he's been attending events and meetings all over the province throughout June, July, and August, with no slowing down as we head into an action-packed Fall. Some of the issues Barry and our other candidates heard this summer include concerns around inflation and affordability, challenges in the sustainability of our health care system, concerns about education, including the K-12 curriculum and affordability of post-secondary education, support for persons with disabilities and mental health services.
Barry, Kerry, Jenny, and Alberta Party volunteers have been knocking on doors, listening to their neighbours, and letting them know there’s a better option. We need you, your time, energy, and talent. Join us and sign up to volunteer, run as a candidate, or donate at albertaparty.ca.ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & POLICY CONFERENCE

INTERVIEW WITH BARRY
Barry recorded a two-part interview on the Forgotten Corner Podcast this month. Barry discusses his views on several topics, including the upcoming general election, and takes questions solicited from listeners. It is well worth the listen, and a great opportunity to share with people you may know who are curious about the Alberta Party.
Like Barry says, 'If I had the opportunity to meet the two and a half million Albertans that potentially are going to vote next time, I think the Alberta Party would win the election'.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PROVINCIAL VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Volunteer — from Latin voluntarius "of one's free will"
Democracy is about the freedom to choose.
Choosing to spend your time volunteering and supporting causes you believe in are the building blocks of our society. The Alberta Party is made up of volunteers giving their time, talent, and treasure in service of something we all believe in.
We believe our government can be better. It can make better choices, conduct debates with a more civilized tone, and do a better job of listening to its citizens.
We are rebuilding our volunteer base and are currently looking for people who believe in what the Alberta Party stands for and where their values will find a home for the long-term.
With the help of you — our volunteers — we will field a team of competitive candidates. We want people who continually live their values and do the work required to see the Alberta Party form government.
VOLUNTEER CALL: to get the job done, we need all kinds of volunteers to do all types of work to ensure the Party’s success. We are creating a network of Regional Coordinators to support the development of healthy constituency associations. We also need many volunteers to help establish and grow their local constituency associations.
Let's build a better Alberta. Volunteer today.
Please contact me to find out how and where to get involved.
Thank you,
Jeff
