Being a LINC teacher, an IELTS Instructor, a Seniors program Instructor, an artist, a writer, a social activist, a mother of three lovely daughters and an Engineer’s wife with two cute kittens and 6 budgies as pets, I also have some long term goals to make Alberta one of the best provinces in Canada where gender equality and women empowerment is given a major importance.
In addition to this, I have a Master of English Literature degree, TESL Diploma, Mphil Linguistics and waiting for PhD Linguistics thesis defense.
I have strong presence in various diverse ethnicities of Alberta since 2000 and have fundraised for various community projects in Edmonton. Being General Secretary of Pakistan Canada Association of Edmonton Women Wing, General Secretary of MAA (Multivision Association of Alberta) and Board Director of Buzm e Sukhan Literary and Cultural Society of Edmonton, I am a proud community leader in South Asian communities and our community looks forward for providing them effective leadership.
I have used my public status to promote various causes such as gender equality, women empowerment and diversity as a power of Canada. I am also on board with Canadian Peace Initiative, a non-profit working to have a separate peace department in Canada. I also volunteer for various Public schools of Edmonton.
Moreover, my article on gender-based feminist media discourse has been published in an international journal. And a few more are in the pipeline. Furthermore, I am also working on a book on feminist media discourse.
