“This is just the latest example in a long line of questionable expenses and it raises troubling questions about the controls in place to ensure expense claims are appropriate,” said Clark. “Our elected officials should serve the public interest, not their own.
“The culture of government has to change. Alberta politics needs a fresh start to reset the culture of entitlement that’s crept into government after so many years of one-party rule.”
Clark called for the Auditor General to conduct an audit into the expenses of all MLAs.
