Creative Industries Matter to Albertans
March 30, 2012
CALGARY - The Alberta Party will release our Creative Industries policy today at the ArtsVote Calgary Forum.
“In Alberta we have a tradition of innovation and creativity, and these are key elements to Alberta’s success”, says Alberta Party leader Glenn Taylor. “We have a proud record of being innovators and leaders in Canada and the world in the area of creativity and innovation. We need to build on that.”
The arts, culture, creativity and innovation need to be pursued seriously, both socially and economically. The Alberta Party’s policy positions the Creative Industries not only as integral to the fabric of our communities, but as major contributors to the creative economy in Alberta.
Alberta Party candidate Kevin Woron (Calgary-Hawkwood) says that “our Creative Industries are a sensible investment in every way – we have seen time after time the positive impacts of small investments on the economic and social growth of our communities.”
Mr. Woron will be introducing the Creative Industries policy at the ArtsVote Calgary Election Forum today. The Forum is taking place at the Calgary Public Library, Central Library, 616 Macleod Trail SE from 12-1pm.
