Join the Alberta Party for a presentation on funding options for future Alberta budgets.
Dr. Bob Ascah (Director, Institute for Public Economics at University of Alberta) will present on a range of policy options when it comes to funding Alberta's future. This presentation will prepare participants for a facilitated discussion through a Q&A and live text polling.
Dr. Ascah holds degrees in Commerce and Public Administration (M.A.) from Carleton University, and his doctorate in Political Science from the University of Alberta. He has previously held positions with the Alberta public service, including work in Federal and Intergovernmental Affairs; and the Alberta Treasury, where he was responsible for financial sector policy, foreign borrowing and liaison with ratings agencies. Following this role, in 1996 Dr. Ascah joined ATB Financial as Secretary to the Board, a role from which he retired in 2009.
Dr. Bob currently chairs the Canadian Cancer Society, Alberta/NWT Division and is academic liaison for the Edmonton Regional Group of the Institute for Public Administration of Canada. He is a frequent media commentator on financial and economic issues.
You are welcome to join us at 6:00 pm for dinner (not included in ticket price) and networking prior to the program starting at 7:00 pm. Opening comments will be provided by Alberta Party Leader Greg Clark, before Dr. Ascah takes the stage.
