Alberta Party opens competition for Executive Director

Have you ever dreamed of making an impact in Alberta politics? 

After having elected its first MLA under the Alberta Party banner in 2015, the rapidly-growing Alberta Party is looking to add a dynamic individual to our leadership team in the role of Executive Director.

As the Executive Director of the Alberta Party, you will leverage your competitive spirit and desire to excel as you connect with various stakeholders in Alberta’s political scene.

This is a highly-visible role that will contribute greatly to building both our party and province. You will have the chance to work within an entrepreneurial culture, while having the autonomy to execute the vision laid out for the Alberta Party by its Board of Directors.

You will engage with influential Albertans across the province, while also overseeing the next generation of Alberta's leaders.

The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the organization. Under the direction and supervision of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director shall manage the Alberta Party organization by:

  • Developing and managing operating and special budgets
  • Determine staff requirements and hire and manage staff as required
  • Monitor operating committees and act as liaison between operating committees and the Board of Directors
  • Develop and deploy standardized resources for local constituency associations and volunteers
  • Sit on key operating committees
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required

The ideal candidate will have senior management experience, preferably in the political or other non-profit sector, including expertise in financial, operations, and human resources management.

Candidates with a good understanding of the legal, regulatory, and political issues related to political entities in Alberta and with personal value alignments with the Alberta Party will be given preference.

This position is a salaried position and requires a significant time commitment by the successful candidate. It requires travel from time to time throughout Alberta and often requires work outside of standard business hours.
