Alberta Party Offers Condolences on the Passing of Ralph Klein

March 29, 2013

Edmonton - Alberta Party President Will Munsey offers his sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ralph Klein.
“We offer our deepest sympathies to the Klein family,” said Munsey. “Ralph Klein brought a unique approach to politics, something that hasn’t been seen before or since. His insistence that everyone ‘just call me Ralph’ spoke to his connection with all people regardless of age, income or lifestyle. He will be missed.”
Ralph Klein gave more than 25 years of his life to public service.

“Ralph treated everyone as equals,” said Munsey. “His dedication to public service shows that it doesn’t matter where you come from or who your parents are. Everyone can make a contribution to our democracy and Ralph led the way.”

Along with his wife Colleen, Ralph was a keen supporter of children’s charities. “Ralph quietly supported causes that had a positive impact on the lives of countless young people. He did this because it was right and he often stayed in the background,” said Munsey. “I think it speaks to his character that he helped people because it was the right thing to do, not for the glory of recognition.”

“Ralph was one of a kind and we’ll probably never see another one like him,” said Munsey.

“Ralph, you will be missed.”
