We are the Alberta Party, proudly named after this great province we call home. A place rich in natural resources, hard-working people and opportunities as boundless as the big prairie sky.

We are a diverse group of moderate, pragmatic, creative Albertans – a next-generation political party that believes our province will only fulfill its potential by focusing on that which unites us instead of what divides us. We’re willing to work with good, rational ideas whether they come from the “left” or the “right,” as long as they are based on sound evidence and are in the public interest.    

Stewardship
We believe private enterprise and entrepreneurship are the keys to our province’s success, with proper oversight from government. It’s also government’s job to look after the environment and provide services like health care and education.

We believe it’s possible for government to create the conditions for a stable economy that enables businesses and individuals to prosper, while delivering public services and looking after the most vulnerable members of our society in a way we can afford. How? With wise fiscal policies that pay attention to both sides of the equation – making sure we bring in enough revenue as well as carefully spending it, ensuring we get the best value for taxpayer dollars. And by focusing on long-term planning instead of short-term political gain. That’s why we describe ourselves as both fiscally responsible and socially progressive.

Integrity
We think government should not be beholden to vested interests and that public business should be done in public. Government’s job is to ensure the legislative process is fair and to engage its citizens. It takes a willingness to listen to people and to collaborate. We think it’s possible to change the whole culture of government to one of accountability to regular Albertans.

We dare to believe all this is achievable. The system can work for all of us. It’s just a matter of having the political will and a willingness to change, of Albertans demanding better from their representatives and being careful whom they support. The Alberta Party is the change agent – it was created to shake up the existing political landscape and to serve the public. We dare to dream bigger and we invite you to join us.
