EDMONTON, AB - September 8, 2016 – The Investor Tax Credit should be implemented immediately to unlock investment in Alberta companies, says Alberta Party Opposition leader Greg Clark and award-winning Alberta entrepreneur Stewart Thompson.
“Not only should the tax credit be implemented retroactive to September 1, 2016, it should be broad-based to enable Alberta companies of all kinds to attract investment and create badly-needed jobs,” said Clark.

CALGARY, AB - August 23, 2016 - Alberta Party Opposition Leader Greg Clark says the lack of fiscal discipline shown by the NDP puts Alberta at risk and is calling on the government to take swift action to avoid a fiscal crisis.
“NDP policies are making a bad situation much worse,” said Clark. “Despite big corporate tax increases Alberta’s tax revenues are way down, and will continue to drop because the NDs have done nothing to create a positive investment climate. In fact, they’ve done the opposite. Attacks on business like the PPA lawsuit scare off potential investors and send a message that Alberta is not a safe or stable place to invest.
“I call on the NDs to move up the planned investor tax credit from January 1, 2017 to September 1, 2016, and to make it broad-based,” said Clark. “The delay rolling out the tax credit and the uncertainty over its’ scope has frozen capital. It’s one simple thing the NDs can do to stimulate investment rather than scaring it off.”

EDMONTON, AB - June 7, 2016 - Alberta Party Leader Greg Clark has released the following statement after significant debate on Bill 20, the Climate Leadership Plan.
“The Alberta Party supports a price on carbon as part of a responsible environmental and innovation policy,” said Clark. “However, I couldn't support the NDs version of a carbon tax.”
Clark has deep concerns with the lack of revenue neutrality in the NDP plan, and the complete lack of details about how they plan to spend the billions generated by the tax.
“The principle of a carbon tax, done properly, makes a lot of sense,” argued Clark. “Increasing the price of something we don't want (carbon emissions) changes behaviour and creates a business environment where Alberta companies can innovate.

EDMONTON, AB - May 2, 2016 - The practice of Naturopathy should be restricted only to procedures that pass rigorous scientific testing, and should be further restricted when dealing with children, says Alberta Party leader Greg Clark.
“Like many Albertans I followed the tragic case of Ezekiel Stephan and this caused me to look further into the regulations surrounding Naturopathy in Alberta,” said Clark. “I was troubled to learn how broad the scope of practice is.

- CHECK AGAINST DELIVERY -
100 years since most women were granted the right to vote. 100 years since women could fully participate in democracy, and share their voices and opinions by selecting those that represented them within government. Even more remarkable, one year after women were granted the right to vote, the first women in the entire British Commonwealth were elected here in Alberta.
I am proud to be descended from a remarkable woman who ran for elected office 1952. My grandmother, who's name remarkably was Alberta Clark, ran as a Liberal in Calgary in the 1952 provincial election. She used to tell me that's not as easy to be a Liberal in Alberta as you might think. I couldn't agree more Mr. Speaker.
In 100 years we have come so far, and yet we still have so far to go.

Last week the Alberta Party released our shadow budget, which is our second such document. We believe as an opposition party we have two choices; we can oppose everything the government does or we can propose ideas and tell Albertans how we would address the challenges facing our province.
